A new client approached me to restore her Grandmothers bedroom suite, it is a well constructed suite, made from Oak and Rimu, which made me conclude it was of NZ origin. She did not want the dark stain which was typical of the period, once it was sanded back the nature of the wood was revealed and the beauty shone through. The handles were extremely ornate and unfortunately the bakelite was damage but managed to save a full set for the dressing table and used the other handles less the centers for the drawers.
extremely happy with the overall look and it will service a bedroom again for another 50 years.
