A long standing client asked me to strip back and finish this old hospital table. When I stripped the paint off the legs we discovered it was Rimu however when I peeled back the lino I discovered a very warped, rough piece of pine which was not suitable for the top. My client asked me to replace it and I luckily discovered an old piece of Rimu (at the recyclers) that needed shaping, sanding and edging once done it was ready to be attached, unfortunately the table was not level and in need of some adjustments before we could attach the top. Deciding to try and maintain the sanded look I used Rubio Monocoat which proved to be a good choice.
This is a perfect example of recycling furniture and if you think you have something that might look good refurbished give us a call.
