The client for this build loves the metal/wood look, I would call it gothic chic or industrial, but the more I look at it the more appealing it becomes in the right surroundings.
The challenge for us here was incorporating the electronics cavity that was a new for us and now it seems logical.
The paint was a low VOC wash and wear and as usual it was hand painted. The interesting thing about painting in black is it shows the imperfections but with this look the wood imperfections add to the overall appeal of the industrial look.
The top was a beech laminate stained and waxed.
The carcass is 18mm or 3/4” pine ply and as you can imagine it is built to last. Most of the joints are dowel for strength and longevity.
overall I think it achieved the client brief.
